What’s the Connection Between Wicked and the John Adams Middle School Boys & Girls Club?
Marissa Bode, who plays Nessarose in the new Wicked movie, worked right here at Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Monica before landing her role!
As a Youth Development Professional, Marissa led arts programs for our kids, inspiring them with her passion and creativity. In fact, she was working at the Club when she found out she had been cast in the highly secretive Wicked project! Current Club members fondly remember working with Marissa, and many were thrilled—and a little surprised—to see her on the big screen.
She even made time to return to the Club this month for an amazing community-building event! She visited with our members, sang a few songs with them, and answered some questions. We are so grateful for her impact on our members’ lives!
