  • All our Clubs will be open January 14 for regularly scheduled after school programming! This includes sports.
  • If air quality conditions change, SMMUSD will implement the inclement weather policy, and we will communicate the change as soon as possible.

January 13 at 6 a.m.

Updates on our Clubs for Monday, January 13. These decisions have been made in partnership with our SMMUSD and LAUSD partners.

  • Roosevelt Elementary is in an evacuation zone and will be completely closed tomorrow.
  • JAMS, Saint Anne School, and MVG will be open for normal after school hours.
  • SMMUSD is calling an inclement weather day for elementary schools. All after school activities, including Playground Clubs and sports, will be cancelled.

At this time, we are temporarily suspending all Biddy Basketball practices due to the current air quality conditions. The health and safety of your children and our staff remain our top priority. Practices will resume as soon as it is safe to do so, a decision made in partnership with SMMUSD.

Please note that games will now begin after February 3, 2025.   The season will be extended to ensure all games are played.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we prioritize everyone’s well-being. If you have Biddy Basketball questions, please reach out to blabrie@smbgc.org.

January 11 at 8 a.m.

We are partnering with Farmers Insurance to offer a Mobile Claims Unit at Main Branch for those impacted by the devastating fires. The unit will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily at 1238 Lincoln Blvd. Enter through the alley.

January 10 at 8 a.m.

Our Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Monica team is dedicated to continuing to serve kids and families during this crisis—in the safest way possible.

If your child needs a safe, supportive place to go today, our Jack & Cindy Jones Youth Center at Mar Vista Gardens Boys & Girls Club is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. All Club members are invited to attend MVG. We will provide indoor programming and snacks.

Our Playground Club sites, Saint Anne School Club, Main Branch Club, and JAMS Club will remain closed today, January 10, out of an abundance of caution and proximity to the evacuation area. Our Admin office is also closed.

January 9 at 8 a.m.

We are heartbroken to witness fire conditions worsen and evacuations expand across our community.

Both of our school district partners, SMMUSD and LAUSD, are closed today. Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Monica will close our Playground Club sites, Saint Anne School, Main Branch, and JAMS today, January 9, out of an abundance of caution and proximity to the evacuation area. Our Admin office is also closed.

In order to support families and those impacted by this crisis, our Mar Vista Gardens Club (4901 Marionwood Dr., Culver City) will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and Friday for all registered Club members. We will provide programming inside only for air quality reasons. Snacks will also be provided for all kids. Please utilize this support if needed.

We are continuing to monitor this crisis closely and are committed to resuming regular operations as soon as possible.

January 8 at 12 p.m.

We hope you are staying safe in the face of unpredictable and scary fire conditions. In light of school closures today, we have some updates on Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Monica programming.

Today, January 8, our Playground Club sites, Saint Anne School, Main Branch, and JAMS will be closed. This decision has been made out of an abundance of caution and in alignment with SMMUSD’s closure of schools. Our Admin office is also closed, and our employees are working remotely.

In alignment with LAUSD schools near us remaining open, our Mar Vista Gardens Club will operate regularly scheduled hours today, from 3 – 7 p.m. Programming will be inside. Registered Club members, regardless of location can attend MVG today if needed.

We will continue to monitor the situation closely and plan to resume regular operations as soon as possible.
