Nestled in the heart of the Mar Vista Gardens Los Angeles Public Housing Apartments, this Club was founded in 2013 thanks to the generosity of Jack and Cindy Jones. It offers kids aged 6 – 18 a safe, empowering space after school and in the summer!
Fun and impactful programs include:
- Homework help
- STEM courses
- Career exposure and readiness
- Nutrition
- Arts
- Leadership and community service
- Athletics
- Dance
Our Youth Development Professionals encourage kids to find their passion and help them connect their interests to meaningful higher education and career pathways.
We are also home to an exclusive teen space that provides a fun, safe place for young leaders to socialize, do homework, work on college applications, read, play games, and relax. Our targeted programming for teens includes Keystone Club and Leaders in Training (LIT), leadership clubs that focus on academic success, career preparation, and community service. At the Club, teens learn to plan for their futures and create a positive impact in our community.
The MVG Club is also home to a Step Team that is known throughout the community! This performing arts program focuses on cultivating healthy lifestyles, teamwork, sportsmanship, and dedication in our members. The Step Team has performed at multiple venues, including flying to Chicago to perform in a Boys & Girls Clubs of America conference!
All members receive healthy snacks or meals daily and free transportation is provided from Stoner and Braddock Elementary and Venice High School.
